Source For Change is a rural BPO empowering women with employment opportunities and providing quality products at competitive prices to our global clients. The project was founded by Indicorps Fellows and is an initiative of the Grassroots Development Laboratory through the Piramal Foundation in Bagar, Rajasthan. The BPO began with a group of 10 sari-clad women who yearned to contribute to the progress of their village and their country and were seeking an opportunity to do so. However, in a region plagued with female infanticide and purdah, it was an uncommon sight to watch women go to work. Hence, Source For Change began with a vision to present rural women a platform to become financially empowered and to achieve a greater social standing.
During the recruiting efforts, the founders were repeatedly asked the same question by both men and women: “Do you really think that women can learn computers?” SFC has unequivocally proved that the answer is “Yes.”
SFC’s all-female staff, whose members had no prior computer experience, was selected as the number one provider of data-entry services by Pratham India.
While imparting basic computer and spoken English skills along with intense Hindi and English typing skills may seem like a triumph in itself, Source For Change aims to surpass the very best in providing state of the art BPO services.
